November's Updates & Events

Updated: Dec 5, 2022

Greetings, Garden Club Members!

By now, our gardens have been put to bed and our outdoor jobs for the year are largely complete. That means it's..... time to think about planning for next year! In keeping with membership's request for more programs featuring practical gardening instruction, this month's program might give you some ideas.

And don't forget to RSVP to this year's Holiday Party! Held on December 1st, it is perfectly timed to get you in the spirit and to kick off the festive season.

AND, It's time again to think about Art & Bloom! Is there a better way to beat off the January blues than playing with beautiful fresh flowers? Maybe sitting on a beach in Hawaii, but if you're spending the month at home, please read below and learn how to join in the fun!

Please remember to scroll all the way down so you don't miss out on any of the news.

JANUARY - ART + BLOOM

Thursday, January 26th - Saturday, January 28th League of NH Craftsmen Gallery

49 S. Main Street, Concord

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Art + Bloom returns for its 20th year! The Club is again partnering with the League of NH Craftsmen, pairing works of art and craft from their January exhibit with floral arrangements by Club members, community members, and professional designers. Art + Bloom is a wonderful way to explore your own creativity and have some fun with friends and flowers, activities always welcome in the coldest part of the year. And Art + Bloom needs all of us to make it a success!

Always wanted to participate, but felt intimidated? If you were not able to attend last week's "how-to" presentation. Club members who were present would be more than happy to go over the material with you. Contact Gena Cohen Moses at 603.491.0437, bgjam@comcast.net.

The real time commitment for this event is just a few hours over several days in the weeks prior -- choosing the artwork you'd like to work with, coming up with your concept, choosing a container and flowers, and finally, creating the arrangement. Click here to learn more and to volunteer.

Art + Bloom questions? Contact Co-Chairs Millie LaFontaine (603-491-6428), Jeanie West (603-547-5381), or Lauren Savage (603-496-7282).

This year, Art + Bloom is timed to coincide with Concord's annual Black Ice Hockey Tournament.
